Editor’s Picks: Not Just a Cup

While I’ve been pursuing what my parents call a “more realistic career route,” it seems that Anna Kendrick has accomplished my life goal of banging cups against a table and calling it music. “Cups,” a song originally performed by Lulu and the Lampshades, was recently covered by Anna Kendrick who brought the song to its current popularity. The song involves making music by banging, flipping and sliding a cup across a table. “Cups” has taken social media by storm causing multiple covers, recordings and video how-tos. The performance has given the cup a whole new meaning.

While some clients will appreciate having another good quality cup to drink their water or coffee from, others will appreciate the beautiful new music maker they were given. With that said, don’t be surprised if you walk into a client’s office one day to the sounds of banging cups and a familiar tune.

Practice-approved
The 17 oz. Stadium Cup from AAkron Rule Corp. provides the durability needed for learning the tedious cup song. Also, you’ll look super cool performing it because of the cup’s abstract design. The cup is top-shelf dishwasher-safe and has optional standard or coin slot lids. The color combinations available are red/blue, blue/green, yellow/orange, orange/blue, yellow/purple, green/yellow or blue/yellow.

Special Effects
As a self-appointed cup connoisseur, I can assure you that the 16 oz. 5-Light Pint from HOWW Manufacturing is a bright choice. Its light-up feature comes in three functions: spinning, blinking and constant-on. Colors available are clear, frosted, red, orange, yellow, citrus, green, blue or purple.

Bright Choice
The 32 oz. Reusable Clear Plastic Cup-Hi-Def from Visstun is very similar to the one Anna Kendrick uses when she performs, except this one is way cooler. The cup has a high-gloss imprint, allowing images to stay bright after trips to the dishwasher. The cup is available in clear only.
